EX1 issue, where is my clip date time info now?

I often use the clip date and time info in my DVDs. I may pop up a little caption to tell the people when exactly it was recorded.

Used the Sony Clip Browser with the EX1 and export out a batch of MXF files. When I add these to the Vegas timeline, and then look at the clips in the Project Media viewer, the DateTime column is blank.

Any way of getting this information?

Unfirtunately, one of the "built-in" weaknesses of the EX1 is its lack of metadata.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. If you insert the Sony Timecode FX from the project media window, you always get the timecode from the file. If you also select DATE/TIME as the timecode in the EX1 TC options, you will always get this value.

In the Clip Browser, the date and time of the reconrding is actually in the name of each clip. When you export to MXF, the name of the clips no longer has this info, it just has the second part of thename.

It seems to throw away the date and time of the recording.

I will try changing the EX1 TC settings to see if it makes any difference.

I just recaptured the wedding footage and the timecode now shows the actual time the clip was shot. The DateTime field is still blank, but I can manage with the time, I think I can remember tat date I shot it on!!
