Excalibur 2 question

I have a question regarding excalibur 2. If I put 2 clips on the same track and close the gap with gap wizard and then go back to gap wizard and set overlap with the overlap length...there is no overlap..just a straight cut. What am I missing here?? Do I physically need to first overlap the clips to get the overlap to work or should I be able to accomplish this as I mentioned above?? thanks JOHN

I cannot reproduce the problem.

Just to be sure, let's go through what I think you are explaining.

1) Two or more events on one track with gaps between them
2) Eliminate gaps by running Gap or Overlap set at 0 (they are now butted together
3) Run Gap Wizard with just Overlap checked and a value of 1 frame or more entered

BTW, just to clarify, you can go directly to overlap without first butting them together.

Another thing to look at: Make sure you turn OFF the "maintain existing overlaps" optoin.

Ive done all the above and I get overlap...just no dissolve between the events...only straight cuts between the events...weird JOHN

Really weird... I did the same thing with stills and with video on the track..still no dissolve between events.... JOHN

there is no preferences preset either that Im aware of that sets a dissolve when events overlap. JOHN
