"Exception thrown by method called"

I know there have been several topics already made about this, but none of them seem to have solutions and have been inactive for quite some time.

Every time I try to click the "Render as.." button in Sony Vegas (HD Platinum 11) I immediately get an error dialogue that says
" An error occurred while creating the media file .
Exception thrown by method called "

Has anyone found a solution for this yet?

I've submitted a report to sony but im not expecting a quick response

Have you ensured you have the latest build of Movie Studio 11?

Have you ensured you have the latest version of Quicktime from Apple?

Have you manually gone to Windows Update and ensured you have the non-critical updates (which don't install automatically)?

Sony Vegas is up-to-date, I just now updated my quicktime and it did nothing, and I have all updates for my computer, including non-critical, still nothing.

Sony Vegas HD Platinum 11, Build 322

*Update
I installed the trail version of Sony Vegas Platinum 12 and it allowed me to render. So after uninstalling/reinstalling 11 I don't understand what the problem is. Please respond ASAP.
