Explode effect

How do I create an "explode" effect, from the end of one scene to the beginning of the next?

I believe Wax (Free) has this effect built in to it. It can be used as a plug-in or stand alone application. www.debugmode.com

particle Illusions SE from Wondertouch does nice effects like this too. They have a free 30-day trial that doesn't have any watermarks or anything.

It is amazing what it does, given that it is free, although the interface takes a little work to understand. I think if you search around for "Vegas Wax" both on this forum and elsewhere, you may find some hints and tutorials. Also, there is a forum at the site I just linked above, and you may find more info there.
