Explorer Refresh doesn't refresh [bug]

AVsupport wrote on 7/6/2018, 8:59 PM

To reproduce (VP15.361/Win10):

>'Render to new track' whatever into the source folder in your Explorer. The new clip will show up in the 'Project Media' list, but not in 'Explorer', even after clicking <refresh> wherever.

File shows up fine using 'Windows Explorer' however..

(doing a search, I've seen a similar thread reported for Movie Studio a few years back..)

my current Win10/64 system (latest drivers, water cooled) :

Intel Coffee Lake i5 Hexacore (unlocked, but not overclocked) 4.0 GHz on Z370 chipset board,

32GB (4x8GB Corsair Dual Channel DDR4-2133) XMP-3000 RAM,

Intel 600series 512GB M.2 SSD system drive running Win10/64 home automatic driver updates,

Crucial BX500 1TB EDIT 3D NAND SATA 2.5-inch SSD

2x 4TB 7200RPM NAS HGST data drive,

Intel HD630 iGPU - currently disabled in Bios,

nVidia GTX1060 6GB, always on latest [creator] drivers. nVidia HW acceleration enabled.

main screen 4K/50p 1ms scaled @175%, second screen 1920x1080/50p 1ms.

@AVsupport : Working in Win7. Maybe that's a clue?

I've come across this in MS. From memory it only occurs if you have the Explorer folder as a "Favourite". If you browse through your pc file structure to the folder it refreshes okay. It's as though the Favourite folders are a snapshot of their contents at the time you start up and don't update when you try to refresh. Bug or by design?

If you’re talking Favourite then I’d say by Design. And if true, I kinda like it. A Favourite is just that.

Yes indeed! My 'Favourites' have just become a little less favourite again..just like the sorely missing 'VFX favourites' folder.. thanks for clearing that up crew ;-)
