Explorer view

Trying out trial Movie Studio, want to make DVD of some 400 vacation stills with background music.

Open up Explorer view to view Thumbnails of stills but do not see a thumbnail pick for this. Can only get file details of the folder the pics are in. I need to see the thumbs as a GROUP so I can pick and choose the ones I want.

Im not about to click on 400 pics ONE at a time for viewing in the preview window.

Is there not a Thumbnail view in the Explorer view? A product this sophisticated seems lacking if not. Yes I know its mostly for video but its a standard Windows function to start with.

Thanks

It's not in explorer view but you can see all thumbnails in project media view.
Open project media then import media click thumnails.

Another way is to have the Explorer open on the screen also. i.e. not having VMS in full screen mode. From here you can drag and drop one or more pictures directly to the time line.
If you want to make some crossfades also when you add the 400 stills, VMS can do this automatically if you enable it in Options +Preferences +Editing.
One reason why I always use this myself, is that I find the thumbnails in the Project Media window small - and I have used the free Windows tool PowerToys to change the thumbnail-wiev in the Explorer to 180 pixels giving some large and clear thumbnails to choose from.
Remember that Windows and VMS supports showing the desktop on 2 monitors giving plenty of space for both Explorer and VMS.
I use a Eizo 24 inch monitor in DVI 1920x1200 mode. It gives a fair basis for editing - but one could always use some more space :-)

Thanks, all. Will try out the various methods.
