Export Image sequence 'step' option not found

Hi, I am trying to make time-lapse video from a long video clip, by trying to render the video clip into a sequence of images. However there is no step option in either the Render As nor the Scripting -> Batch Render ... function so that I could skip interval of few seconds between the image sequence. I am currently using Vegas Pro 18. I read message from others that there was an 'Render Image Script" in early version. How can I do this now?

If, for example, you want to apply 50% acceleration to a 25p video, set the project properties instead of 25p to 12.5p and render as an image sequence.

@alex-f a script can definitely be used for this. I know Excalibur best (since I wrote it). You could use Excalibur to export a screenshot every "x" frames/seconds (using a timecode).

@alex-f a script can definitely be used for this. I know Excalibur best (since I wrote it). You could use Excalibur to export a screenshot every "x" frames/seconds (using a timecode).
