Export in 16:9

Hello,
I have a project in HDV 720-25p (I captured with connect HD/Cineform. So my project is automatically in 16:9. And I want to make a DVD that keeps the 16:9 format and for that I need to export MPEG 2 in separate streams (I use DVD Maestro for DVD authoring). But in vegas 6, there are no options to export in MPEG 2 separate streams in 16:9.!!??

I tried to click on the custom button to see if it was a question of set up but I noticed that the custom button does work with the MPEG (1 and 2) formats.

What can I do to solve these problems?

Is this the full version of Vegas (not the cut-down Vegas Movie Studio version) ?

If it is the full version then the 'custom' button should work (custom MPEG settings are not available in Vegas Movie Studio - it's one of the differences).

If you can't create a suitable custom template but there is a suitable 16:9 'program stream' template, render with that and then de-multiplex the .mpg file to get the separate video and audio files you need - have a look in the www.videohelp.com tools section for freeware MPEG demux tools e.g. [url=http://www.videohelp.com/tools/PVAStrumento]

No I don't have the limited version. I bought the SONY VEGAS 6 on the net. Do you think it might be a bug? What can I do for the custom button to work when exporting an MPEG?

Have you tried re-installing Vegas ? (if you have other Sony/SonicFoundry apps installed, it might be worth removing those first just in case there is a conflict happening, then putting them back one-by-one)

Is it fully registered/activated ?

I can't comment directly about Vegas 6 - I moved from Vegas 3 to Vegas Pro 8 recently (and have also used various 'Movie Studio' versions) - but both have do have full MPEG custom settings available, so I'd be very surprised if Vegas 6 didn't.

Can you not select DVDArchitect Wide Screen template and then render the audio to AC3? That will give you an Mpg file without audio.

Thanks to all for the responses.
When I bought the software, I activated it (now I don't know if it's "fully" activated or not?)
I will try to uninstall and install again. Will uninstall vegas make the vegas project don't work after re installation?

PS: I already tried to export in DVD Architect PAL Widesreenn but my DVD authoring software (DVD Maestro does ot recognise the file!)

What is the file extension that you are given for the DVDA widescreen file? Try changing it to mpg before attempting to open it in that other program.

Hi,
I tried to unistall/install Vegas, but NOTHING! The custom button still does not work for MPEGs.

The strange thing is that I also have vegas 5 on the same computer and the custom button also don't work, BUT it works with the same Vegas 5 that I have on another computer!?!?

Do you think it can have to do with the computer itself.
