Export jo Jpeg2000 sequence?

Is it possible to export the timeline to jpeg2000 image sequence? (for input to opendcp software).
Or at least export from virtualdub to j2k (with the help of framserver).

Now i have to export first to BMP's (very big files..), and convert to j2k in another step which is very time consuming, and not a smart method.

thanks!

Does your dcp software accept only jpg2k?

no
i use opendcp which has built in jp2k converter, and it accepts bmp-s, but i don't want this extra step, converting to bmp first..
thanks

I've used the http://www.morgan-multimedia.com/morgan/php/products.php?sProductId=5 implimentation of jpeg2000 image sequence but I've only ever used it to output to avi from vegas and haven't used it for dcp, I had a quick look in vegas and I couldn't see the option to encode to the mxf wrapper which I think is what you need, but perhaps there is a way to rewrap it from avi rather than re-encode by using ffmpeg or something like that ?

I would export to PNG sequence. It's lossless.
Then batch convert to jpeg-2000 if needed in Irfanview.
Bitmaps are like juggling elephants.

yes, but png-s need much more time because of encoding, right?

and this don't solve my problem, i want this two steps:

- convert from vegas to images
- convert these images to jp2k

reduce to one step:
- convert from vegas to j2k
or
- frameserver from vegas and convert with 3rd party (vdub, etc) to j2k sequences

thanks

im in the same boat.

im looking in alternative softwares to opendcp with encoding capabilities to make a faster/less steps encodings from vegas.

from now im exporting in tiff, and using a batch script that to the rest automatically.

but im doing small clips only, larger ones can be a problematic, hence the "enhanced" methods im after.
