You could try exporting an EDL via **scripting** (not file-> save as, that is not what you want).

That might not work though, and CMX EDLs may not be officially supported.

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, has anyone tried doing this script Export to EDL in Vegas 11? It begins to write a file, looks incomplete to me, and then Vegas crashes hard. First time I've had to work with EDLs and such; I'll use AA Translator if required but I think it still needs to be in this EDL format as I understand it.

Anyone? Trying to get a cuts only file that can be imported into FCP.

Two suggestions: Do a search of last year of VegasPro forum for term " Chainick" -then reading that for info, you might try search term "EDL" as well as other terms coming into play. There has been considerable effort made to decipher Sony EDL for a cuts only export.

Maybe you could use "Import Sony Vegas EDL" http://dl.dropbox.com/u/20488019/ImportSonyVegasEDL.zip

I use it to export a EDL txt from Vegas. I then open it in After Effects and export a proper EDL from there for import into other NLE's.
