I'm looking at some interlaced AVCHD clips from several consumer cams, and exporting stills. I got project properties set to interlaced, upper field first, and deinterlace method set to none.

Exported stills from this timeline look deinterlaced, identical to interpolated.

If I change project properties to progressive, with deinterlace method none, now exported stills are clearly interlaced -- that is, you can see how the fields don't line up.

Anyone understand why this is happening? I would expect the stills to look the same whether project is set to interlaced or progressive, if deinterlace method is set to none. ?
