Exporting in Media Pool Info

Can't believe i couldn't find this topic discussed in the forum archives and can't believe i haven't had to do this until now...

Looking to export the data (track name, track length, ect) from the media pool into excel. I know the trick to do this with the Edit Details is to click on the upper-left box then cntrl+c and paste into excel... I tried the doing the same with the Media Pool listings and it only allows me to paste a bitmap into excel...

Whats the trick?

Just gotta be able to do this in Vegas... right???

btw - i am looking to export the clips info from the media bin so i can automatically add up the total video clips length - and down the road use that info to generate an invoice (to quote archiving by the minutes)

RFM...... duh...

Answered my own question... for the record...
-open project
-click save as on file menu
-instead of saving as .veg, click 'save as file type' drop down & switch to "EDL text file"
-start excel & open file
-change file type in open dialog to .txt.
-open the edl text file
-select use "delminted" field and semi-colon as the delminator

Kinda of junky looking in excel after open... i go rid of all the colums i don't need (nor what they mean)..... only problem is that the file name lists the full path.. ie C:/VegasCapture/Florida98/Disneyland-clip001.avi"

Simple excel text function and its fixed (not posting it here cuz i have to figure it out first.. ask if u want me to post it when i am done)

pleasure answering my own questions :O

god i am an idiot talking to myself!!

just had to figure this (potentional) problem ...

When you Save As "EDL.txt file", ONLY the media currently on any track shows up in the report. If you want to export all the info data on the tracks in your media pool, first make sure they are some where on your timeline.

i still cantkeepup but i am gettingsmarter!
