Exporting Stills

I was going through some wedding video footage (not mine!) and I wanted to pull some stills from it. I found the "Capture Picture" button and captured the photo to the bins, but I can't seem to find a way to save the picture in another folder for non-video use. There was no 'left-click, Save As' option nor an export in the File menu.

Is there a way to Save/Export still captures to a place other than the Bins in VV#?

Thanks,

Jeff

I don't understand. When you click on the "disc" above the preview screen to save the picture, it pops up a dialog box asking you for a name and a location. All you need to do is specify the location.

Likewise, if a picture is in the bin, it is also in some subdirectory on the hard drive. All you need to do is locate that file name on the hard drive and use it in whatever program you want.

I have tried doing this, but I got a low-resolution image, something like 320 x 240. How do I capture the full resolution of the image I'm working with (which I guess would be 720x480) since that's what I'm capturing at.

Thanks

Right-click the preview screen and choose "Display at Project Size". Change the preview quality to "Best" and then save the picture. Afterwards, change the preview quality back to "preview" and turn off the "display at project size".

I have also found that changing the Field order in project properties to None (Progressive scan) before saving the still helps with quality on clips that had motion in them. Otherwise you get "jaggies" on the edges of the moving images. I switch it back to lower field first after I have saved the still.
