If any of you have made the upgrade step to SSL's release of Pro Converter 5 (the new version of what used to be Ciu Bonosoft's EDL Convert) here's a quick update on exporting XMLs from Vegas Pro 8 for use with the new software.
Pro Converter comes with a set of scripts and icons for addign to the Vegas 5, 6 and 7 scripts folder and using to import and export Pro Converter compatible XML scripts in Vegas 5, 6 and 7. These are the same scripts from the old EDL Convert program.
HOWEVER, currently the manual doesn't cover Vegas Pro 8 and the old scripts don't work.
If you want to export or import XMLs for Vegas Pro 8 use the standard XML import and export script that come with Vegas Pro 8. In fact DON'T put the supplied scripts in to your scripts folder with Vegas Pro 8 as they only result in an error message if you try to use them.
The good news is that the standard XML scripts in Vegas Pro 8 do work and Pro Converter recognises them.
One caution though, a current bug in Pro Converter causes path problems if you have 'spaces' in the names of your folder or drive names so try to avoid that until a patch is available otherwise the media isn't found in all conversions... particularly conversions to Apple XML files.
