Is the burner detected by WinXP, Nero's any other Burning Software?

What model is it?

Yes, XP recognizes the burner (LG GSA-5120D) and I can burn DVDs with other software. What I've done so far is to "Prepare DVD" using DVD Architect and then burn the result using DVDLab.

I can also make DVDs on this drive using Sonic MyDVD. On rare occasions, DVD Architect will recognize the drive, but it either locks up when trying to burn a DVD or makes a coaster..

DVD Architect will not recognize any DVD burner on a motherboard with an nVidia3 chipset - according to Sony Tech Support.

Thanks for the response, but I don't have the nVidia chipset. I'm content to make the movie to disc and then burn with other software until or if an answer comes along.

I recently downloaded a trial version of "ProShow Gold" because of another post in this forum. It recognizes the LG DVD drive with no problem and burns good DVDs.
