External Monitor Failure . . .

I know this topic has been done to death. I've read the "posts".

However, after having had initial success with VV, using the Dazzle Hollywood Bridge to pump clips thorugh to the TV, my system is now freezing. I haven't daisey-chained the device, it is going straight from the firewire PCMCIA card to the Dazzle. Hmmm....

Any takers?

I'll bite...

If it worked before what has changed? New installs/updates/hardware...?

Preview quality?

When exactly does it "freeze" and what happens then? How do you resume?

My bet is the problem is Dazzle related. Do you have a DV camera or any other DV converter you could try?

Early model Dazzle converters default to PAL and can lock up NTSC systems unless you feed video into them while you boot your computer. Later models have a switch that you have to toggle between PAL and NTSC.

SonicEPM: "My bet is the problem is Dazzle related. Do you have a DV camera or any other DV converter you could try?" Made it work with Dazzle before, sooooo . . .

Finster: "Early model Dazzle converters default to PAL and can lock up NTSC systems" PAL working here in London UK.

YEAH . . . MPH! Doah forgot to set to Best Quality - instead of "Preview quality?" AND I need to have the firewire DV coming from the DEll Video Qualified 1394 port.

Working now - if a little sporadically.

Thanks people for your input,

Grazie
