external monitor option

if i dont want to use tv monitoring via 1394>camcorder>tv, what else can i use? any other options? something reasonable please.

i do some searching on the web today, looks like the dazzle hollywood bridge will do the job. is it expensive? how good is the analog capture? does it come with firewire card? i do have a sony dv camcorder, so the analog capture is not a big deal.

1394 --> Canopus ADVC100 --> TV

I am looking at getting one so that I can preview stuff on my tv when the camera is out.
