External Monitor Preview - Vegas 6 vs 5

Can anyone comment or advise re why when I play any video, preview external monitor on, that the monitor shows blank for a few seconds, then picks up the signal, then shows a few pixelated frames, and finally freezes on a frame (approx 70 frames in). If I let the video play it sometimes comes out of it's freeze and plays a few frames pixelated then freeezes again.

I can open the exact same .veg in Vegas 5 and the preview shows perfectly.

What gives? Any ideas. Settings in 6 I need to try?

I thought this might be the 1394 / SP2 problem rearing its head and tried to install the patch but got an access denied error from Windows when trying to apply the patch. The patch runs but will/can not make the registry entries so it fails. (I am the administrator for my machine). Any Winderz gurus have Ideas why that is happening?

This is a known issue with the Pyro A/V Link (I have the same, with the same sort of problems, as do others here) and our dear friends at Sony say they are working on it, and I believe it, though it has been a couple of weeks at least since this surfaced. So stay tuned, as they have promised an announcement on this forum.

same issue with me on delay (every piece of video) Fine in V5. I use a dsr-11 for previewing.

Plus, I have older clips that play very well with vegas 5 and 4 that will NOT output in Vegas 6.

Vegas 6b does NOT fix this problem.

I've got a Pyro box, revision 3, and it's working for me. That's quite an old version, is yours C, or 3, or newer?
