External Monitoring Problems

I am using a dual-output NVidia GeForce FX 5200 graphics card that supports Direct3D acceleration. I am using Vegas Pro 8. I'm trying to preview my videos on an extra monitor I have hooked up on the second display. I have it set to expand my desktop onto both monitors but I can't seem to get Vegas to recgonize both monitors seperately. I've tried changing all the settings around, but it just seems to recognize one large monitor (or one normal monitor if they are cloned). I've tried displaying it differently but the best I could do was to get it to preview full screen in the primary monitor and what seemed to be the right half of the video in the secondary monitor. The help file says that I can use the secondary monitor as a preview even if I only have one video card, so what do I do?

You need to set the card to separate display. not expand or clone.

I finally figured out how to do that (I had to update the drivers).

But now it just takes over both monitors and displays the same thing, even thought it recognizes both monitors seperately and I've selected the second one.
