Extract clip capture time/date to text event

Rodeomonkey wrote on 10/6/2009, 5:32 PM
G'day,
I'm in desperate need of a script that can extract the capture time and date from a video clip and place this data as a text event above the clip. This is a very tedious task to complete manually and I have dozens of tapes with hundreds of clips on each tape!
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Jason

Excalibur, which I have, does Clip Name/s info but not time/date.

Also, not a script, not as a Plug in for Vegas but do take a look at thishttp://paul.glagla.free.fr/dvdate_en.htm DVDate[/link] and is only for SD. It has other utilities too.

Grazie

Scripts cannot create or alter text events.

Slight correction...

Scripts can create a text event and can choose a preset.

Scripts cannot change the text or any other settings - only pick a preset.

A script might be able to create an image containing the text and place that image as an event?

That's exactly what the Quick Labels tool in Excalibur that Grazie referred to does.
