Extreme Newbie question about chapter markers

I have just made my first Menu driven DVD using Vegas/DVD Arch 2. I filmed a singer live with my new sony minidv camera, captured it into Vegas and added text tracks and edits, cutting each song into its own file and rendering individually. (usually I had rendered as a whole multiple song file, then set chapters in DVD Arch).

I then opened DVD architect and right clicked the files and selected the add media button. Okay, got all 13 video files in there and arranged them. Everything went well until I played back, then I noticed that I could not "skip to the next track". When I tried, nothing happened, "chapter one" appeared in the upper corner, but it would not advance to the next track.

So I put in chapter markers, that showed up on the timeline as 1:2, 1:3 etc. Upon playback, it still would not skip to the next track but would at least go back to the main menu so i could select another chapter.

What am i missing here?

Chapters are subsections of a continuous file. If you have separate files then each file is really it's own "chapter 1". You could try setting end actions after each clip to jump to the next clip. There will probably be a slight delay. Better yet would be to load all the separate .avi clips into Vegas, create markers where each one starts, and render them as a single MPEG-2 file for DVD-A.
