Extrude 2D Logo

I need to take a simple 2D oval logo, extrude it slightly and have the capability to spin it in 3D space for a television commercial.

Any suggestions on affordable (cheap) software that will accomplish this?

Blender and Caligari's TrueSpace older verson 4.2, both are free.

Search their helpfiles for "extrude".

Blender for newbies might be a great start as most book stores
B&N and Borders both have books with the CD included.

While others will have titling specific solutions, eventually
it is a good idea to try to learn some 3D program.

I still use the old Asymetrix Web 3D and have done this many times with good animation success
