f:\source\sonic3\release ......error

I have unsinstalled and re-installed DVDA 5.0b after getting the following error:

f:\source\sonic3\release\dvdarchitect\5.0\cddrvs\sfcd\sfmmcx.cpp Line 2144
An illegal request was received.
A specified address is out of range.

I don't have an F: drive so i suppose it's a RAM drive, nevertheless I'm still getting this error.

that's an error that points to a specific part of the code for DVDA.

that could be really really useful if you knew what you were doing to get the error.

Googling there's one hit: http://forums.techguy.org/multimedia/784806-dvd-burning-problems.html

Not enough to make it a trend, looks like maybe one of the burning issues.

While you don't have an f: drive, Craig, many error messages are hard coded, & many errors cause whatever default messages to display, depending on whatever the coders stuck in there. IOW I wouldn't personally go nuts trying to decipher this particular one. It might be useful reporting to Sony techs, but with Google only coming up with 1 hit, otherwise pretty useless.

If you are having burning prob., good place to start is with Google, since it'll get you hits here in the Sony forums as well. More than several threads on burning issues, but that's about all I can say about it -- I've never burned a disc from inside a Sony app in my life... Nero, Roxio, & Imgburn work fine, plus you've got your DVD layout on hard drive to edit, replicate, etc.

Since I don't have an F: drive I did a HEX search in the DVDA folders and found 288 DLLs and EXE files that have this reference. I think that SCS map an F: drive to make a RAM drive to make it faster to work with.

When first installed SV9 I hijacked this proj from an unfinished SV8 proj but when I got a low memory error I re did and completed the proj in SV8. I already have a few coasters from this pro so now I'm burning to a RW DVD.

My project is 2 MPG files made with SV8b. I have rebooted/ reinstalled and still get the same error.

I think I should get hold of SCS techs

It says that

"We noticed that you chose "XP - 64-bit" as your operating system. This particular Sony Creative Software program is not supported on any Windows XP 64-bit operating systems, and therefore not eligible for support........ huh?
