Fade-ins flash, not smooth

Using some Vegas 9.0 (and Vegas 8.0) start screens in my High Definition videos, specially with color gradient, they flash several times instead of fading in smoothly when previewed in DA5 and in the final SD DVD.

Solid colors start screens, or video itself, they both fade-in correctly. Also, this flashing does not show up in Vegas 8 or 9 in preview or rendering. They do not show either when making BD in DA5, only when making SD DVD.

Edit:
Unfortunately, more tests indicate that the flashing problem is also present with solid colors when making BD in DA5, no just SD DVD. The flashes show also when previewing in DA5 both types of DVD as well.

I use the composite level curve to generate the fade-in.

For the benefit of those who may experience a similar problem with flashing and flickering initial fade-ins when using DA5, the bug has been confirmed by Sony Support, they can reproduce it readily, and is on their list to do.

The fade-ins using Background Media in the Vegas Pro presets do not transfer correctly to DA5. Explorer preview and DVD preview both show the flickering anomaly (in DA5) and DVD's burned in DA5 show the defect also, whenther Blue ray or SD.

Using video or external photos do not show the problem. Therefore, the workaround for now is not to use the Vegas Background Media presets for fade-ins ...
