Fade Title text in & out

I've created titles in the text editor, but how do I fade the title in and them out. Currently they are just popping on the screen where I placed it? Thanks for any help.

Overlap the title event with another event on the same timeline. An automatic dissolve will occur the speed of which will be controlled by the length of the overlap.

or

P,lace your cursor at the top left coener of the title event and it will turn into a quarter circle. left drag to the right and you will create a dissolve. Same for the end of the event.

Terry, I have the title on the title time line and want the text to fade in over the video, hold for a few seconds then fade out. I tried to find the quarter circle and pull it down as you mentioned but never found it. What am I doing wrong. Thanks for your help.

This may help you find it. I show it here on a video clip, but it works just as well on text, stills, or any other generated media.
