fade to 50% instead of 0%

this has to be stupid simple, but i can't figure it out. i have an event that is 100% opacity. at a point in time, i want to fade from 100% to 50%, then hold at 50%. how can i do this?

Right click over in the track list (left side) and select Insert/Remove Envelope>Composite. Then set your two points on the track.
