Hi all:
Using V5. Clean XP install, no other codecs, etc. P4, etc, well up to the task of NLE'ng. Here's the problem:
Fade from white out at the end of a 9 minute video to black (super or 15...same problem with both) either generated black media or timeline black. Simple fade shows a lot of jittering during the course of the fade. I tried a new project with a simple white (255 or 235, same problem) generated media clip that fades to timeline black or generated media black...same problem...jittery fade...uneven areas of fade dancing around horizontally during the fade. The jitters do not seem to be consistent either. Tried various permutations of interlacing blend, field order, alpha types, etc...no luck. I had this problem before when I rendered out the same video (a proof draft for the client) to DVD. At that point I assumed it was an MPEG codec problem. Now, I am rendering as AVI...Sony codec, best quality, nothing really abnormal. Does the same with 'good' or 'best' quality.
Thanks to all for your help!
Jeff
