Track 1 = Video
Track 2 = Load generated media - white - stretch to length required.

Put white generated media behind event and overlap for however long you want the fade.

OR

Right click track and chose fade to envelope. Then and points and drag it up for white.

Or

Use the transion "Fade to white" if you want to fade from your event to white and then fade from white into the next event.

or u can use the secondary color corrector and keyframe the offset or the gamma to give you a fade to white not all the same across the board, but increase brightness in the bright spots first etc...
