Fades in my splices

After using Vegas Movie Studio for the first time, I went back and listened to some of my splices. Almost all had pops in them. When I zoomed in between clips on the audio timeline I noticed a quick fade down and another quick fade up between the cuts. These have the effect of causing a pop. To remove them I have had to zoom in on virtually all the clips splices and remove the fade downs and fade ups. Anyone know why there are there?

I do not believe I have overlaped the clips at all. I put then on the timeline by a drag and drop. Is there a setting that causes the fade down and fade up of audio between clips?

If I use enable snapping will this avoid this problem?

Thanks

Those fades are there to avoid the pops! Normally not having the fades at all is what causes pops between clips. Apparently that's not working for you though. Look under Options / Preferences / Editing. If you see a setting for "Quick fade length for audio events" then set it to 0.

Thanks for the tip. I have reduced the fade time to zero. It was defaulted to 10 mSec. Since I have a background in radio, I can hear the silence between the audio while the splice was zeroed. I think a short cross- fade would have worked better than a quick fade out and then short silence and then a fade in.

Thanks again.
