Fantastic System

The more I'm using VV and trying out new things the more I'm realising that Vegas Video is a fantastic digital edit system. I just found the button for previewing clips......fantastic! I've rearanged the desk and having the preview on a separate monitor with the aid of my Radeon graphic card, gives me so much space...........what can I say but........FANTASTIC! I'm absolutely delighted with this software, does it show?

Just read a review of digital imaging software in one of the photo mags. The piece dealt primarily with manipulation of still photos (digital stills, scanned film/prints, etc), so, I expected to see packages like Adobe Photoshop and Micrographx Picture Publisher mentioned. Don't you know they ran a short blurb on Pinnacle's Studio products, and Dazze was mentioned also. I don't get it. Neither of those is better at capturing stills than Vegas, and both are a lot less capable in most other areas.

Go figure. Vegas seems to be one of the best kept secrets around. Sure am glad I stumbled across this package.

I've known about Vegas for several years and knew it had to be a decent NLE because During that time I was using Acid to create a lot of sound tracks for my movies. However, I didn't realize how fantastic until I switched from Pinnacle to Vegas. Although, like any program there's a learning curve, Vegas gets you up to speed almost immediately, and then, little by little, you begin to discover it's many gems. The most immediate improvement in my movies is the ability to confidently do brightness, contrast and color fine-tuning and see it exactly as it will look on the TV monitor without rendering (albeit at a reduced framerate). I never could master this with Pinnacle partly because it's real-time preview was at reduced resolution.

Any more "little gems" which newcomers to the system (like myself) may not know about???

It's like being at a grand buffet - loving the chicken salad and asking if other food is as good? There's so much.

For starters, though, I'm replacing everything that I used to do in After Effects with VV. Think of a super optical and then try in VV - there's undoubtedly a way.
