Fast Forward

can anyone tell me how apply something that would create
a "fast forward" effect maybe 8X or 10X

Try the velocity envelope- you can ramp the speed up to
400%, then softly decellerate back down to 100%

you can hold the "Ctrl" and place curser at end of clip (
like if you were going to make it a shorter/longer shot)..
then make clip shorter will give you FAST /speed up motion .
.. hold Ctrl and making the clip longer will give you slow
motion
