You can "scrub" through clips on the timeline by holding down the right arrow key.

Is that sort of what you want?

Actually, I guess that would work if you reduce the relative size of the timeline so that the arrow keys cause you to move more quickly through the movie.

How about when you preview a clip from the media pool?
