Fast Motion - AviSynth, MVTools, etc.

I have followed the thread at http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=4&MessageID=802088, which was excellent at getting me up and running with DebugMode FrameServer - AviSynth - MVTools - VirtualDub, and the script there worked for Slow Motion. However, I want to speed up my video. I have about an hour of video that I want to condense down to 5 minutes or less.

I tried multiple passes of Vegas, but that just blurred the motion terribly. What I believe i want is something that will drop 11 out of every 12 frames or so. I thought that AviSynth with MVTools (or some other plugin) might do the trick. Unfortunately, I haven't found the right plugin or magic incantation (script) to do this.

Has anyone tried this? Successfully? If so, help (and sample scripts) would be much appreciated!

Thank you.

Gary

"I tried multiple passes of Vegas, but that just blurred the motion terribly"Did you "disable resample" on the video events & cntl-drag?

Thank you. Disabling resample made a huge difference.

To get the time compression I wanted, I needed to make two passes. I still think there must be a good way to do this in AviSynth.

"To get the time compression I wanted, I needed to make two passes."

Rather than render more than once, try nesting one project into another.
