Fast prepare, slow burn

DVDA 2.0 seems to prepare much faster. I didn't do any tests, but that is my initial impression.

However, burn times seem quite slow. I just burned a test disc consisting of two MPEG files. The total size of the VIDO_TS contents is 152 Mbytes. I burned, using DVDA 2.0, to a Pioneer DVD-RW 2x media, using the 2x speed (I verified that 2x was selected). I am burning using a Pioneer A05 on a Pentium P4 2.8 GHz. Total burn time was 13:24. With Nero, I can fill up this same disk, with over 4 gigabytes of information (28 times more information), in just a little over 30 minutes (i.e., 28x information in only 2x the time).

In watching the progress indicator, the actual burn time seemed reasonable (just a few minutes), but then DVDA spent over ten minutes burning the leadout.

I vaguely remember, back when I used Moviefactory 2.0, that there was some warning about whether you wanted a long lead out or not, but I thought it applied to DVD+R. This is DVD-R (well, actually DVD-RW).

Is this normal? It sure puts a crimp into making quick test discs, especially since WinDVD (4.0) isn't navigating between DVDA-created titlesets the way my set-top player does, so I have to burn a test disc to make sure the end action does what I think it is going to do.

Thanks in advance for any help!
