Fault with mp4 rendering & Proxy rendering

Keshet wrote on 12/20/2022, 12:03 AM

Hey there,

I am experiencing a fault when trying to render mp4s or render proxies.

I am using a new windows 11 machine (one month old, worked well till about a week ago) with Nvidia 3080. Vegas, windows and Nvidia all updated to latest drivers (studio driver for Nvidia).

The files I use are Canon R5 4k50fps IPB files.

Every time I try to render I Vegas crash, half of the times it also leads to a full system crash with windows blue screen of death.

The fault seems to come from mc_enc_mp2v.dll.

I have tried changing GPU drivers (from studio to gameready and back), uninstall and reinstall vegas (also tried resetting all setting by using control + shift on startup), enable and disable GPU acceleration, adding and removing VRAM capacity, enabling/disabling GPU decoding.

Any solutions?

Can you give a screenshot of the exact rendertemplate you used to render?

Changes depending on project, 4k, 1080p, 720p - but all with same result - crash.

regardless proxy render also crashes everytime.

I just formatted my computer and installed a new version of windows 11. all drivers updated and vegas installed and crash still happens everytime.

Thank you for the screenshot .
I had some thoughts , but first you did a reset and later on all totally new and that's why I'm out of suggestions.
With me no problem with those settings, but I don't have your sourcefiles.
Maybe you can publish the MediaInfo of those files following this tut: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

Another detail from my Facebook conversations with this user... they also are having similar crashes when loading media into Premiere, so I'm starting to lean towards hardware failure (They already ran memtest to see if it's RAM)... Motherboard? CPU? The blue screen of death is giving the pagefault in unpaged area. This is definitely a system-level error, not VEGAS.
