1. I love the ease with which you can add music to the timeline and the way you can use envelopes to control output.
2. The use of the trimmer to add stuff to the time line. Just i, o and a does it.
3. The sensible suite of keystrokes you can invoke for virtually any command.

If only I could discover how to make sure that something I do in one part of the time line doesn't impact on other parts. Any suggestions?

Don't leave 'auto-ripple' on.
I also like that you can put a CD in and extract the exact time period you want, if you want.

I adore!:

* Multi instances

* Scrub Highlight Trimmer and plop onto main T/L - I wanna bit of that - well init goes!

* Strecth Slomo - fills out those dodgy voids in my timings!

* Ho! Immeadiate Reverse for reverse camera zooms and throw focus.

* Colour Correction AND the "other Event" clipboard comparison

* Empty Parent Track "Motion Control" of underlying Child tracks

* Hallo! nearly forgot - Keystroke/Toolbar Workspace set ups! I got mine laid out as per my project workflows [ 2x17" Samsung LCDs screen setup ] :

- #1: My "Sorting Media" for T/L set up - Explorer; MedPool; FX and trhe balance

- #2: Full T/L nothing else

- #3: Full T/L MedPool & trimmer

- #4: Colour Correction Set up - Scopes, Preview & FXs

- #5: Compositing Options T/L Media Pool & Trimmer

- #6 & #7: Complex one this . . 2 Instances of Vegas Setup - Setup #6 for Instance V1 [ stuff "squished on RIGHT screen ] and then Setup #7 for V2 [ stuff "squished on RIGHT screen ] - means I can "see" both instances at once!

- #8: Audio

- #9: Void! Available for other options

This last - Workspace Set ups in V5 - has most likely been THE major boon to my workflow efficiency MEANING allowing me to get to my ideas faster - now THAT'S the thing. Vegas allows me to get to my ideas AND works WITH me to develop them.

Above ALL else - I like the way it performs like a foxy graphics package on high octane! - I find my ideas have needed to be sheet hot too! - Vegas doesn't allow me to be slack, complacent, self-satisfied or artistically smug. BUT my ideas flow better knowing that Vegas can somehow support my WILDEST dreams! - It kinda just does it? . .Yeah?

. . Tell you what folks, I had my latest client come and see what I'd done with some dodge or burn and Chroma key - guy nearkly wet himself!

Keep the Faith!
