wont install on my brand new AMD 2800+ PC either, I really feel ripped off.

... same problem; won't install on my microwave oven ... just slipped the cd-rom in and all I got was a firecracker special effect transition then beeeeep, no install.

I double-checked before you ask: YES, everything is plugged in the wall and I pressed "power" like they said in the manual.

Or maybe I just ordered a plugin by mistake ? Then, if the plugin is like $1000, how much is the Program??? Pheeew, on TV they didn't say it's so expensive editing video at home !

O_+

I gave up on installing FCP on my computer, so I bought vegas. It won't install eigther. I slip it into my drive and flip the latch closed (to keep the disk in) but it won't work. here's my specs:

Commodore 64
64k RAM
5 1/2 in drive (putting the disk in this one)
cassatte drive
latest version of Commodore BASIC installed

any help? please? I'm desperate to run Vegas!

Strange you're having such problems.

I've got both Vegas 8.0-3D and FCP 9 Holographic running on my 33GHz P6. Man, the world sure is better now that SONY bought out Apple back in '06.

ps. don't spread this around. If too many people from the past find out the future, it could change my present! ;)

Funny, the only version of Vegas I can get to work on my Radio Shack Color computer (64K of Ram) is version .00001

Did you defrag before, during and after installing? Also make sure you have the anti-virus disabled. Also try not to play Pong during install.

Hope this helps.

OK, you guys are in a funny mood... Fair warning, put down any beverage before reading, I'm not responsible for damaged keyboards.

I'll call this: How To Know When You Spent Too Much Time Online
(mental note to self, READ, this sounds an awful lot like me)

You visit your girlfriend's home page more than her and kiss it through your monitor.

You turn your PC speakers way up so if you leave the room you'll know you got email.

Your bookmark/favorites list takes 15 minutes to scroll from top to bottom.

Your wife makes a new rule: "The computer cannot come to bed."

Your idea of a good time is thinking up new topics to search at Goggle.

You spend half of your plane trip with your laptop on your lap and your child in the overhead compartment.

You dreams are in HTML/ XML.

You put off going to the bathroom, preferring to read just a few more posts in this forum.

You're turned on by the color and design of the SoFo logo.

The only way you'll talk to your wife or kids is through email.

You're getting depressed because you've come to realize you'll never visit every link at Yahoo.

You check your email. It says "no new messages." So you check again two minutes later.

You named your first born Eudora, or Mozilla.

You actaully check out HTTP addresses scribbled in public restrooms.

You bought a Star Trek Captain's chair with a built-in keyboard and mouse.

You turn on your computer and turn off your wife.

You already have five computers at home and are thinking of getting a sixth.

Well, obviously you're not a professional who's been using FCP professionally in a professional environment. If you were, you'd know that FCP has had the capability of running WITHIN the Avid Media Composer project timeline on Mac and PC workstations since 1982. I swear, VV will never be a professional level app until YOU AMATEURS stop using it and let us PROFESSIONALS pay more money for it (professionally).

P.S. I've been doing this since 1961

It wouldn't install on my Timex Sinclair TS1000 either! I don't understand it- I've got the 16K ram pack...

Shawn,
I've got to disagree with part of your statement. My experience has been that the more people that use a product the better it becomes, be they amateur or professional, mainly because the developers like to eat and work much more productively if they can afford to do so [more users=more capitol; Windows has come a long way as an example]. Otherwise developers end up like the poor badger above trying to cook a cd for a little nourishment.

Actually, I was just being sarcastic. Though, there really are those in the VV community that would like to see Vegas tailored only to high end pros (and cost three times as much) - I'm not one of them.

Peace,

Shawn

Shawn,
I'm sorta concerned as to what Sony Digital has in mind; it will be interesting to see what happens to the product lines "when?" ownership shifts; this may actually have more impact than the amount of users on future releases. I hope "as projected" that things will be better and we can chuckle at how good life is.
Thanks for your positive comments,
Gold
