Feature modification request- Subtitles Quality of Life change

I'm not certain whether this is the right place for this, so please let me know

I use a website to scan my video files and generate captions into an .srt file format. It makes my life so much easier than manually typing everything out, but Vegas adds a couple of frustrating steps that could be easily avoided.

When I go to insert subtitles from file, it always defaults to the same folder: Documents. I keep all of my downloads in the downloads folder, but I imagine there are others who keep their files in other places. No matter how many times I use this feature, it always directs to the documents folder, which creates an extra step for me each time

Once the dialog window is opened, I encounter the second frustration. The default search is for .txt files. This means I have to click the drop down and select .srt whenever I want to add a subtitle:

I know for a fact that this does not need to be split out like this. Even on THIS VERY FORUM you can see that it doesn't need to be this way. This is what shows up when I go to upload an image:

I think it would take little to know effort to make these small changes to make the user experience better. I hope the Vegas team sees this and implements it in the next update.

Also, before anybody asks "are you adding subtitles so often that this is an inconvenience for you?" Yes! I'm editing Tiktoks and Youtube Shorts which are like a minute each so I'm constantly using this feature :)

I completely agree with both of these changes- it needlessly slows down the process. The file type should default to all compatible types.

The third thing I'd change is to automatically quantize the generated media.

Vegasaur has a great way to import and export subtitles. Importing subtitles for a two-hour movie is almost instantaneous.

Internal import in Vegas takes forever and your software sometimes crashes.

It used to be a rule that an interesting feature appeared in Vegas, but it did not develop further. Therefore, to this day, Vegas has no innovations in this area or export of subtitles. I do not understand.

Try Vegasur and you will be happy.

Update... It's been a long time since vegasaur released an update. I don't know if it is functional in Vp21.

Vegasaur works perfectly in VP21 and theories aside, VEGAS programmers have been adding similar features to what's in it where there have been a lot of requests. Recent example is changing the formatting of all text events on a track with one click, which was introduced in 20.
