Coming from the DAW world, I would pay money to have the transport controls with distinct differentiation - either with button shapes and borders, and/or color differentiation i..e. red for stop, green for playback, yellow for pause etc. as in Samplitude, Sequoia and such.

As it is with each button of the same shade, I have quite a difficult time using the controls.

I do use the keyboard for transport, but I use the mouse just as much.
