file sharing

I have crossed a website called www.kazaa.com.....and it has a feature of filesharing.
if i understand it correctly....i can possibly download files from another PC if that PC is online and have files sharing configured.

Maybe we can give it a try....so for those who are willing to share their projects, veg files or video clips...it can be dowloaded thru this way....no matter how big the file is.

I am not sure, if this is safe and secured.....does anyone know about this file sharing stuff?

don't use Kazaa. I don't recomend file sharing like that at all. To many jerks putting viruses into files you can download, legasl hassles, etc. Very rarely I use filesharing stuff like this. Infact, the last time I used it was to download some music for a CD I wantd to buy, and I wanted to make sure I got the right CD (It was a japinese import of music from the Zelda games and I wanted to get the live CD, not the midi cd). That was 2/3 months ago.

If you just want to share your Vegas stuff online like this, you should be warned that people CAN download you stuff, edit it, and plop it back on the network saying it's their work, or modify and make you look bad (same people who put vituses in those thing anyway).

kazaa can probably be considered a "worst of breed" example of file sharing. The software you have to install is a nightmare. Generally it causes massive problems and bogs your computer down badly. I've known several people who's computers have become nearly useless after running kazaa for a while. It's taken a lot of time and effort to rid there systems of the software. Possibly reformat & reinstall would have been faster IF they had had all their important files backed up.

On top of those problems, kazaa is also spyware. It logs and reports not only file sharing activity, but also other internet based activity as well.

Then there is the more basic problem that most files available through online sharing are copyrighted and allowing free downloads of them may be (read: probably is) illegal.

Don't do it.
