Question:

What is the best file type to render out from Vegas, if it is going to be used on a webpage? Are there any extra steps needed in order to create the ideal file for web viewing?

Generally, wmv is the most widely accepted format for PC users, Quicktime for Mac users
File>render as>Windows WMV file> choose the template that works best.
If your vid has a lot of motion, you might consider reducing saturation by just a tad using the HSL filter.
Typically, files are 512Kpbs or slower. We do most of ours at 256 or 100kpbs. There are templates for both in there.
