File type not supported

I just got around to looking at the companion disk that came with VV3. There are mostly *.mov files. However, when I try to add one to my media pool a dialog indicates that "File F:\Video Clips\LiveSTOCKfilm, Inc\Chips.mov could not be opened." Just wonder why that would be. There are no additional descriptions but at one time it said the file format was not supported.

Anyone have that experience?

Do you have the most recent version of QuickTime installed? You might not have the right codecs on your system.

You can get it at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/products/qt/

Well, I thought I did but did not get the authoring version and that's what screwed me up. I kind of figured it out myself but I'm glad somebody said something since I could still be sitting out here confused. You apparently HAVE to get the authoring version before this works. Thanks!
