File won't open

I have a Vegas Pro 10 file that won't open. It has opened in the past. It's fully edited and ready to go. I just need to open it to copy some of the edited clips out of it and into another file.

The file gets to 30% and stops every time. The computer doesn't freeze, it doesn't become non-responsive and i receive no error messages. It simply stops opening at 30% and won't go any further.

I need to get to this project ASAP. I have rebooted, attempted to open with Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum (which i had before i got pro 10) and prayed a lot. Any ideas?

I would try opening it right before going to bed, then I would see where it stands in the morning. And if it opens then, I might save a fresh copy of it.

That said, it may be a bad cluster on your hard drive. If so, you can use SpinRite to fix the cluster. SpinRite is the most useful software I ever bought (other than Vegas, of course).

Don't think you can open Vegas in Plat/Studio? You CAN go the other way around!

If you could locate the Vegas BAK file you could get lucky.
