Files play from timeline, not from Explorer

I just upgraded from 9.0b to VMS 10.0. I can no longer preview or auto-preview AVCHD (.mts) files from the Explorer window. When I select a file in the Explorer window the sound plays and the frame number counts up, but the video does not play. If I put the file onto the timeline, it will play/preview OK. It is tough to figure out what files to put onto the timeline using just the sound. The same files preview in 9.0b, so I know that VMS can play the files from the Explorer list. Any suggestions for settings that could fix this? Or is this just plain a bug? Thanks.

Is it playing the video in the TRIMMER window? If yes, you need to change the option in the trimmer to play in the preview window instead. This was a big issue when the trimmer changed in Vegas Pro 8.0c. It could be that the trimmer changes just now made it into VMS.

Solved by Sony Tech Support:
Import a video file onto the timeline, then right click on it and choose "open in trimmer." In the trimmer area, deselect the "show video monitor" button. You should now be able to preview your files from explorer again.
