Just place the film underneeth the text, then use the croma key to key out the white of the test, or use a mask.

Or use the transparent text media generator on top of the clip. Change the text background to whatever color you want...

Here's two examples of cyanide's suggestion (using the text generator). I have used keyframes and at some points both the text and the background is transparent. I've used a very thin outline (also in the text generator).

second example
Good luck!

Put the text on track 1.
Put the video on track 2.
Click on the Parent/Child arrow on track 2.

I'd probably go with Parent/Child too...

Hmm...I got some problems with this 'Parent/Child' thing.
It is to the left at the video bar right?
I push it and it connects to another video track.
But then all gets black.

Tor...I want it as you had it in your video.
Do you got MSN messenger?

Top track: all that is white will let image on track below pass through while all that is black will block it.
So: track 1=text (in B&W) White text on black backdrop.
track 2=your image
You then activate the Parent/Child switch.
Bingo.
If you want , you can even add a 3rd track, your "imaged text" will superimpose on this 3rd track (if you put another picture on this 3rd track).

Although I admit to not being able to understand a word... I like the music in the first video example - can you tell me who the artist is please? Sounds a bit like Zucchero but what do I know?

Thank you

There's an email address at the site which normally works.
The song is written by me and recorded in Abbey Road Studio 1, London England (The Beatles used to record in Studio 2) a lttle over 20 years ago. The singer is Magne Høyland. The song is from an albun by my then band Asfalt.

The effect: Put the fat text on the upper track, video on the lower. In the text generator dialogue, click Properties and pull the alpha (checkerboard box) all the way down for text colour, and all the way up for background. You should now see video through the text.

Decided to make this the topic of this month's "Beginner's Corner". It goes hand in hand with the last two months worth of articles. Hope to get it out next week.
