Final rendering is not smooth - HELP!

My first VV 4.0 project is very skitterish and not smooth after being rendered. Some of the fade transistions don't even happen and it seems like a bunch of frames are missing here and there. When viewed in the preview of VV it plays fine. I've tried rendering as an AVI and also wmv 8 and 9 and same results. I ultimately want to play this as a DVD (but can't get the MPEG plug-ins registered). What settings should I be using?

What kind of OS are you running and on what PC and processor and a few more specific items....Desktop or laptop brand, Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP home or PRO, capture/video card, etc.

What do you mean you can't get the MPEG plug ins registered? Did you buy them? Have you called SoFo help desk to get your registration code?
