First V9 bug!

gjesion wrote on 5/11/2009, 9:41 AM
I have possibly found the first bug in V9. I have some footage that needs some serious color correcting and am trying to use the split screen function - and V9 hangs when I enable view right/left half! V8 works perfectly for me. I am running XPPro.

More info. It only hangs when using a firewire external monitor. If I don't have the monitor on it doesn't hang - the video preview window just sits there w/o doing the split screen.

Jerry

Sorry...no bug.
works perfectly....maybe you made some customization and just need
to restart it.

I get hangs. It might have something to do with having something on the clipboard. For the first hang I selected the split screen/clipboard option while the clipboard was empty. I then copied the preview window to the clipboard and tried to change my timeline location. Hang. Eventually the preview window's frame counter started showing "......"

For the second hang I copied the preview frame to the clipboard and then turned on the Split Screen/Clipboard function. Instant hang. Eventually the preview window's frame counter started showing "......"

I'm also on XP, SP2

Some VST plug-ins won't load. System hangs on Splash Screen.
After deleting some VST plug-ins problem was gone. Never had any problem with those Focusrite plu-ins.

Rob,
Do you have a second monitor installed in XP? I neglected to mention that I have 2 monitors installed. I do not have the second monitor as my preview tho.

Yes, I'm running 2 screens but preview is just on the preview window, not on a secondary display or anything like that.

I'm thinking this has more to do with a frame being loaded in the clipboard because I don't think I'm getting the hang otherwise.

<Edit>The Select Left, Right, and All options don't persist when I chose them. Only the clipboard option stays selected. I should open up 8.0 to remind myself how it's supposed to work.

For me it's doing this on Screen1 or Screen2. I tried putting Vegas and its preview window on either screen and it hangs in both cases. I didn't really expect this to fix anything but had to try.
