First Vimeo Posting

Hello All:

Here is my first Vimeo posting. Wow the playback quality is so much better on Vimeo!

I've been hesitant to post on Vimeo because the quality of the projects you see there so impressive and, quite frankly, intimidating. But we all gotta start somewhere, so here goes.

This video's format is typical of our weekly trip video on the dive boat. I do a short music video compilation for each site and them stick 'em together in a DVD at the end of the week. This particular wreck is a deep one and we only do it for divers who have advanced training.

Regards,

Kimberly

It looks very good considering you are at that depth. Any problem with white balance at that depth. The video is very clean, technically. Hardly any noise and the color looks natural.

Thanks Aqua!

The VX-S1 is a simple housing. On, off, zoom in/out. No white balancing controls : ( . So I normally use the red filter on almost all exterior shots except when it's too dark.

In this case it was too dark so I pulled the filter. The color you see is either from the lights or color correction in Vegas -- which I am still learning. The lights are only good inside or on close-ups. There was lots of fiddling to get the color to look okay.

We have a lot of particulate in our water so wide shots are always a challenge but it was clearer than most days when I shot that footage. Sometimes you get down there on a big dive and the water looks totally crappy and there's not much you can do except get close-ups.
