First Widescreen Project...Scared...Need Comfort.

Hey all,

I just want to make sure I'm not overlooking anything before I get deep into this thing. I'll be using a mix of:
HDV 720P
DV (from prelinger archives)
JPEGS (from numerous sources)

My project settings are:
Custom 1280x720 30P
Pixel aspect ratio 1.000 (square)

My intended output is:
NTSCDV Widescreen
(and eventually Blu-Ray)

Anyone see anything I'm about to goof up?

Thanks

You're putting 4:3 into a 16:9 project. You need to decide upfront how you'll handle that. My best advice. Test, test and test. Make certain your DVD player is setup correctly. Test how things look on a 4:3 TV with the DVD player setup correctly. You should have black bars top and bottom.

If you're in Vegas 8, convert those JPEGS to PSDs if you can. My V8 hates JPEGs...

Thanks for the tip farss and I feel your pain on the JPEGS Jessariah. I've learned to keep them small (in file size) and break the project into smaller renders if I start to accumulate a boatload of them on the timeline.

So I assume the settings are okay. I just need to test test test.

Thanks again.

My V8 hates JPEGs...

Mine does too but I convert to PNG.
The file size is smaller and, IMO Vegas likes it better than PSD.

PNGs maybe?
Sorry, put that in before I read Mikes post.
