fit to disk?

My dvd arc. project is made up of a bunch of .avi files because i'm using multiple angles. I have DVDA 3. When I choose fit to disk it says it only uses 95% of the disk space so I moved the slider up to 100% and then prepared my project. The disk turned out to be a little bit too large. My question is does DVDA automatically prepare a DVD to 95% capacity to allow room for error or is that some kind of mistake because in DVDA 1, I never had a problem when I adjusted the slider to 100%.

To leave some room for error, especially when the program is so bad at size estimates to start with, makes a lot of sense. I don't particularly like to burn all the way to the edge anyway, since that's usually where I see the most problems show up.

I agree. living on the "edge" is risky business. <wink> I NEVER go all the way. You probably should max out at 95-97% (a little less than about 1/4 inch unburned looking at the media edge when viewed AFTER burning.

Its hard to judge if you use a variable bitrate and AVI as source.

I never will get all those that insist on trying to squeeze the max on a disk or ignoring the defaults thinking bumping up the bitrate a little will make a "better" DVD. Rarely. Doing so for sure can cause problems.
